New year, new resolutions ?

Yes, I admit that I've never been "ok" with NY-resolutions, my opinion is that everyday you should do your best to be better... but I guess there is a reason why people need to use the occasion as a turning point to revolutionise their lives. Its a new year, its exiting and full of nostalgia of what we did and didn't do last year. It has this inevitable shared social meaning no matter where you are... but most important, its new.

For me, that turning point was always travel. A country or simply city, with new people and new cultures, weather, food and humour. There was a feeling of wonder and accomplishment that made me not need resolutions, I didn't thrive to become a better man, or wiser, funnier or more interesting; but the best part was that it all happened by itself. It wasn't really a goal of mine to change, that is just what happens when you travel. Those experiences make you a better person, wiser and happier.

Sadly, I still haven't found a way to make enough profit with it and call it a life style. To travel is more like a hobby, maybe a need of mine, perhaps even an addiction. And now, finding myself again with the urge to go, and coincidentally at the beginning of 2012, it seems only right to change my old habits and revolutionise my life in the good old fashion: with a set of new goals and resolutions for this year that with a little discipline and hard work might get me closer to the life I've been craving for all these years.

So welcome again to my blog, a simple reflection of the very wisdom that I've gathered in my years of rambling the world. I truly hope you like it and join me during this new year of mine.
